Types of ACs:

  1. Central AC: These are used to cool large places where there are a lot of rooms, like in hotels. It blows cool air into the rooms through ducts. These are called split systems because they combine two different units. The first (outdoor) unit comprises a condenser and compressor, while the second (outdoor) includes an evaporator coil and air handler.

  2. Ductless mini-split AC: These are the most commonly used ACs. These have better efficiency and cool a small part of the house, like a room. These also have two units, the first one (outdoor) consists of a compressor & condenser, and the second (indoor) includes a unit mounted on the wall. According to your temperature setting, the indoor unit has air blowers that blow the cool air into the room.

  3. Window AC: As the name suggests, these are mounted on the windows. These are single units, and all the components are enclosed inside and are used to cool a small portion of the house, like a room. Heat is ejected through the outdoor side, and cool air is blown into the room by the indoor side.

  4. Portable AC: These are similar to the window ac as all components are enclosed in a single unit. But the only difference is that it can be moved anywhere as they are portable. All it requires is a power outlet and a window by which it can blow out the hot air through its funnels.

Conclusion:

Those were the few most commonly used ACs all over the world. And now that you have a better understanding of those, we hope you’d be able to pick the right one for yourself. Now you can contact any Air conditioning contractor in your locality and tell them what AC you want.
